ZEvent 2019 - gamers have a heart

This weekend, the ZEvent took place, a charity event bringing together around fifty French streamers, mainly from the gaming scene around “Adrien.”Zerator“Nougaret for 3 days in favor ofPasteur Institute. He and his team have been organizing this operation annually in favor of a different association every year since 2016. At the time, it was under the name of the “Avengers Project” and raised 170K €. Each subsequent event doubled or even tripled the number of donations, €452K in 2017 (under the name of zEvent) and crossed the symbolic million euro mark in 2018 with €1.1M in donations.
Using our proprietary methodologies, we analyzed this event from the perspective of data from the 49 streams of the event, including the analysis of nearly 4 million comments published.
Other figures to remember from zEvent 2019:

In total, combining the 49 live Twitch (54 streamers), we note A peak audience of 592,006 viewers for an average audience of 153,582 viewers.
Zerator is the streamer with the highest peak of viewers reaching 262,000 viewers, which is the 2nd best performance of French-speaking Twitch (behind Squeezie and in front of Gotaga).
10.5 million hours were watched cumulatively by 2.5 million unique visitors, in comparison, zLAN (another event with Zerator broadcast on Twitch) had totaled 2.8M hours watched.
These are 35 million total views (not deduplicated) that were generated on the various streams.
3,933,550 comments were posted by 272,000 people or around 11% of the unique visitors who signed up. This is due in particular to the restrictions applied to the chats of certain streams reserved for people who have paid for a subscription.

There were 238,628 donations during the event for an average amount of €12. 49% of these donations were under €5.
A new world record
While breaking the 2018 record may have seemed complicated, it was surpassed with 13 hours left of the event. To collect donations, 2 official initiatives were proposed: the purchase of T-shirts and direct donations on streamers' Twitch streams. The gaming community also had ideas to support this fundraiser with the production of a soundtrack specially produced for the event (ZanThem).

Each streamer also encouraged their community to donate to reach levels or “sub goals” against which they promised various actions related to their content or actions to be carried out.
The complete list can be found here: Sub Goals zEvent
There are thus more than ten participants who will have to prepare for the Paris marathon. In order to bring down these sub goals, some streamers in the largest communities such as Squeezie (YouTube number 1), Zerator, Mister MV or Domingo carried out “raids” where they encouraged their communities to donate even just €1. The results are impressive with thousands of euros collected in a few minutes. The first raid of this edition launched by Squeezie has in particular made the services of Streamlabs, a provider of additional services for Twitch worldwide, especially on donations, unavailable.
The most impressive raid remains the one conducted on Domingo by Squeezie, Zerator and Mister MV. By combining the 3 largest communities, they thus made it possible to raise 75K€ to send Domingo to the Paris Marathon in less than 20 minutes.

The previous record is therefore more than tripled and a new world record is set.

A day of visit with registration via a site was announced by Mr Chambon but the servers did not keep up with the massive influx of zEvent viewers. In conclusion
An event that was held in a good mood with an enormous investment from the main French streamers, demonstrating the impact that the gaming community can have, far from the simple cliches combining video games and violence.
The zEvent enjoyed an impressive audience with 2.5M unique visitors for 10.5M hours watched, or 4 hours per unique visitor on average.
Since the affected community is mostly under the age of 35, the question arises for a majority of associations to start communicating to this audience by learning about new platforms and their codes.
Congratulations to all the steamers, Zerator, and everyone involved in the production of this event.
